Planning your vacation in Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is one of Canada’s busiest tourist destinations and its main attraction is of course the amazing waterfall. The waterfall known as Niagara Falls is one of the most amazing things you’ll see in your life, and you won’t be able to get enough of them. There are falls on both the United States side and the Canadian side, but most of the people and attractions are on the Canadian side, which is where Niagara Falls is. If you cross the border into the United States then you’ll be in Buffalo where you can see the falls, but there is far less to do.
For the best experience at the falls for both the kids and adults you’ll want to go on one of the “Maid of the Mist” boats. They are big boats that take you right around the bottom of the Niagara Falls. They will give you a poncho if you don’t want to get your hair or clothes wet, and it’s wise to because you will get soaked. The huge boats allow for lots of tourists to get on each ride so typically the waiting lines aren’t very long and you won’t regret the wait. It is an amazing experience when you are in the middle of the Horseshoe Falls and water is coming down on all sides of the boat.
After enjoying the view from the bottom of Niagara Falls, you can walk along the boardwalk which is directly across from the falls and you can get a great view. You will also want to bring your camera because the falls make for a great background in a picture to send to family and friends. If you’re with children then you’ll want to keep an eye on them so they don’t get separated from you because there is quite a few people who visit this area each and everyday.
Since you’ll most likely be spending a full day down at the falls you will need to plan for lunch somewhere, and depending on whether you’re with children or just you and your spouse will reflect where you eat. There are lots of fast food places along the boardwalk on the opposite side of the street where all the stores begin. If you want to eat at a restaurant then you can also do this and there are many choices including some amazing restaurants which you must try. You can find restaurants such as the Hard Rock Café and Planet Hollywood. Of course you’ll need to expect to be spending around $50 per person at such a restaurant, but even the fast food joints will cost you $10-$15 per person. With Niagara Falls being such a highly populated tourist destination all the prices are generally higher there then what you see in your hometown.
Niagara Falls is jam packed with entertainment and things to do and you should never ever get bored down there. Expect to spend a day just down at the falls, but to enjoy everything Niagara Falls has to offer you will need to spend at least a week there.
